Welcome all Miami Dance Company auditionees! Our company’s continued success results in the company becoming more and more competitive. Auditions are to be taken very seriously as they prepare students for what they will be experiencing in a competitive atmosphere should they become a member of the Miami Dance Company for the 2025-2026 season. There is NO GUARANTEE that a student will make it to the team for the new season because of previous year(s) on the team. Auditions are designed to test each student’s technical and performance ability in a professional setting. Auditions allow for the faculty to view the students individually and as a group in order to properly place them in upcoming dances (according to how they perform the given choreography at auditions). Also, as lyrical, jazz & contemporary require strong technique, we will be basing placement in lyrical, jazz, & contemporary routines off technical performance. Students need to be able to pick up choreography correctly and quickly, as well as being able to perform in unison with the group. All these factors play a major role in deciding placement for students in new dances. 

*** If your child is not able to make it to one of the formal audition dates, they must participate in one of the summer training intensive weeks. THESE ARE THE ONLY TWO WAYS TO AUDITION FOR THE MIAMI DANCE COMPANY 2025 – 2026 COMPETITION TEAM. NO PRIVATE AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD, THIS YEAR AS WE’RE OFFERING TWO DIFFERENT DATES.***

Following auditions, there will be a MANDATORY parent meeting on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025 for all students who have been selected for the 2025-2026 team. We will be going over everything that is expected of the students and parents of the company; therefore, ALL PARENTS (mother, father, step-mother, & step-father) that are involved in the student’s funding, transportation, involvement, and commitment must attend. This meeting is where we will be explaining (in detail) what is expected of our competitive students and parents. Also, students who make the company for the new season are required to participate in a 1-week MANDATORY CLASS INTENSIVE that will take place during the afternoon from Monday – Friday from August 4th – August 8th.  Dancers must also be available on Saturday, August 9th and Sunday August 10th in case of any guest choreography. Select prices and an exact schedule for the 1 week intensive are TBA. Furthermore, it is mandatory to take the assigned core classes throughout the year apart from scheduled choreography and rehearsal times. These core classes are meant to give students a solid foundation of technique and skill before learning new choreography. Our new season will begin on Monday, August 11th. 

Students must audition for the category in which their age will fall. All ages are as of January 1st, 2026. Example: if you are currently 11, but will be 12 by January 1st 2026, you must audition for Teen Company (ages 12-14 years old). Placement in Mini, Junior, Teen, & Senior will be left to the judges and teachers. For example, if a dancer is a teen, he or she may be placed in junior dances and vice versa. Students must arrive with hair slicked down into a neat bun, black sports bra, black briefs and or black leggings. Presentation is of the utmost importance. Schedule is on next page & the same for both audition dates.
